The Department deputed the following Officers for attending the Training Programme on Lay Cardamom organized by the Directorate of Agriculture and was held at Conference Hall, Shillong.

  2. Shri A.S.Kharlukhi, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer Shillong Soil Conservation (Territorial) Division.

  4. Smti.B.H.Syiem, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer, Shillong Soil Conservation (Cash Crop) Division.

13th - 14th February, 2004

Shri K.C.Momin, Addl.,Director of Soil and Water Conservation, and Chief Executive Officer, MCCDB attended the Seminar on "Development of Agri business - Key to North East prosperity at Guwahati organized by the North East chamber of Commerce and Industry, Assam.

16th - 20th February,2004.

The following Officer of the Department attended the Training Programme on "Watershed Management" held at Administrative Staff College, Khanapara.

16th - 21st February,2004

The Institute conducted a training course on "Participatory Approach to Watershed Development funded by the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Altogether, 22 (twenty two) nos of participants drawn from Agriculture Department of Assam and Meghalaya and Soil Conservation Department of Assam and Meghalaya attended the training. The trainees were taken for a field visit to ICAR , Umroi and Umpling - Umrynjah Watershed (WDPSCA). Resource persons for the training course are officially deputed from ICAR and SIRD besides officers of the Department.

24th February,2004

The following Assistant Soil Conservation Officers attended the Workshop on GIS Based Sustainable for the State of Meghalaya held at Conference Hall, Raitong Building Shilong.

The Office of the Divisional Soil Conservation Officer, Jowai (T) organised a study tour for progressive farmers of Jaintia hills to ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research), Umroi where they were exposed to various farming techniques and livestock managment.

8th & 9th March, 2004

Smti I.Rynjah and Smti. M. Diengdoh, Assistant Soil Conservation Officers of Directorate of Soil and Water Conservation, Shillong, attended the Seminar on National Plan of Action on National Policy for Empowerment of Women organized by Social Welfare Department, Meghalaya and was held at Conference Hall, Yalana Hotel, Shillong.
