COURSE PROVIDED

  1. Field Assistant Training Course: - This an 11 months training course on basics of Soil and Water Conservation, Forestry and related subjects for those having minimum qualification of HSLC or equivalent or in –service Soil Conservation Demonstrators/Foresters or equivalent. Subjects taught are (a) Soil Science (b) Agronomy (c) Surveying and Leveling (d) Botany (e) Silviculture (d) Forest mensuration (g) Wild life (h) Forest law (i) Forest Utilisation (j) Forest Engineering (k) Accounts and Procedures (l) Soil and Water Conservation Engineering.
  1. Middle Level Technician Training Programme: - This is a 5˝ months advance course on the techniques, planning, designing and project formulation of Soil and Water Conservation Programmes for those having minimum qualification of P.U. Science or equivalent or in- service Soil Conservation Ranger/ Forest Ranger/Agriculture Extension Officer/ Overseer/Draftsman Grade I/ Surveyor Grade I or equivalent. The subject taught are (a) Soil & Water Conservation Engineering (b) Soil Science (c) Agronomy (d) Forestry. Emphasis is laid on the preparation of project reports for Watershed Management works.
  1. Short term courses: - Short term courses provided are
  1. Soil Survey Course of 30 days duration.
  2. Surveying and Leveling Course of 30 days duration.
  3. Plantation Crops Development course of 45 days duration.
  4. Watershed Management Course of 25 Days duration.
  5. Plantation Crops Development course for lower level functionaries of 10 days duration.
  6. Participatory rural appraisal of 3 to 10 days duration.
