Workshop on Communication Skills at EEI, Jorhat. 19th to 26th Jan 2005 attended by Smti. S.Pohsnem, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer, P.F.C. and Smti. M.Diengdoh, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer (Carto) Directorate of Soil and Water Conservation.

Workshop on Farm Journalism at EEI, AAU, Jorhat – 8th –15th Feb 2005 attended by Smti. I.Rynjah, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer and Smti P.P.Lyngdoh, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer.

Interface meeting on training, planning and need assessment conducted by by EEI, Jorhat & held on the 19th April 2005 at the Directorate of Agriculture, Shillong. Shri A.Syiem, Joint Director of Soil and Water Conservation (Headquarter), Shri G.Kharmujai, Divisional Soil and Water Conservation Officer, Shri A.S. Kharlukhi, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation Officer, Smti. I.Rynjah, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation Officer attended.

Workshop on Monitoring & Evaluation at EEI, AAU, Jorhat from 16th to 21st May 2005 attended by Shri K.S.Nongkynrih, Soil and Water Officer (MEU), Smti P.P.Lyngdoh, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation Officer, M&EU and Smti. B.H.Syiem, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation Officer, Nongstoin.

Direct Trainer Skill-II-Course-DTS II at the Institute Secretariat Training & Management, Department of Personal & Training, New Delhi from 25th to 29th April 2005. Shri G.Chakravarty, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation (Instructor) Conservation Training Institute, Byrnihat and Shri A.B.S. Swer, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation Officer, Conservation Training Institute, Byrnihat attended.

Training of Trainers Programme on “Participatory Watershed Management at NIRD, Guwahati from 20th to 30th June 2005. Shri B.Kharmalki, Divisional Soil and Water Conservation Officer Instructor and Shri C.Sen, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation Instructor attended.

Workshop on Promotion of Public-Private Partnership in Extension at EEI, Jorhat from 20th to 24th June 2005. Smti. P.R.Marak, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation Officer, Survey and Smti. H.T.Lyngdoh, Assistant Soil and Water Conservation Officer, Shillong C.C. Division participated.

Regional Level Orientation Course on Soil Conservation for enhancing productivity of degraded lands in the catchment of River Valley Projects & Flood Prone Rivers held at C.T.I. Byrnihat from 18th –22nd April 2005. Participants include officers of the Soil & Water Conservation Departments of Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram and from the Forest, Horticulture and Agriculture Departments of Meghalaya.

Course on “Office Management” for Soil Conservation rangers at C.T.I. from 26th to 28th May 2005. 20 nos. of Soil Conservation Rangers of the Department participated.

Course on Office Management for RD Functionaries through Intervention of IT., at NIRD, Guwahati was held from 6th to 11th June 2005. Shri S.K.Sangma, DSCO Tura (T) and Shri K.S.Thubru, DSCO Jowai (T) attended. Shri D.S.Kharsyntiew, Joint Director of Soil and Water Conservation, C.T.I., and Shri R.W.Momin, Joint Director of Soil and Water Conservation, Tura attended the 20th to 25th June 2005 phase of the Course.

Training on clearance of Scheme for the staff of the Heads of Department held at MATI, Shillong from 17th to 19th May 2005 where Smti. B.M.Lyngdoh, U.D.A. and Smti. G.P.Nongrum, Statistical Assistant attended.

On 8th February, 2005, a Farmer’s Training was held at Kynrud for 94 Nos. hailing from Four villages of Lower Phansong, I.W.D.P. Shri D.Langstieh, Divisional Soil Conservation Officer, Nongstoin, inaugurated the training as the Chief Guest.

On 9th February, 2005, a farmer’s Training was held at Maukorah for 146 nos. farmers of four villages under Upper Phansong I.W.D.P.

On 11th February, 2005, a Farmers’ Training was held at Mawlyntriang under Umlangdi I.W.D.P. for three villages under this project.

On 15th February, 2005, a Farmer’s Training was held at Nongmise for 94 nos. of farmers from the two villages under Nongmise IWDP.

On 16 February 2005, a one day Farmer’s Training was held at Remondon where134 nos farmers of six villages under Wahlawang attended.

On 18th February 2005, a one day Farmer’s Training for the Kynhiaw River Valley Project was held at Khliehmawlieh. Shri. A. Nongsiej D.F.O., Nongstoin inaugurated the Training.

On 22th February 2005, a one day Farmer’s Training was held at Nongjri for 174 nos. of farmers under Parmawiong IWDP. Shri. E. Kharmalki Project Director, DRDA inaugurated the Training Programme.

On 24 February 2005, a one day Farmer’s Training was held at Keori where 41 nos. of farmers coming from four villages under Keori-Nolirata IWDP attended. Shri. M. Danggo, Honorable Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly inaugurated the training.

On 3rd March 2005, a one day Farmer’s Training for the Members of the 11 benefiting villages under Umyiap River Valley Project (Phase–II) was held at Madan Riewblei, Umiap. The training was inaugurated by Shri. K. L. Tariang IAS, Director of Soil & Water Conservation, Shillong Meghalaya. Shri P. Marbaniang, District PRO, West Khasi Hills was the Guest of Honor.

The Resource Persons included Shri R. D. West, Member-Secretary, SCSTE and Dr. K. Nongkynrih, Faculty Member, Department of Sociology, NEHU besides the District Officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal & Husbandry and Veterinary Fishing & Forests.

On 8th March 2005, a one day Farmer’s Training was held at Mawphansyiar for 163 nos farmers of five villages under Ummulieh IWDP.

On 14th April 2005, a one day Capacity Building on SHG formation and its function was held at S&WC Training Hall, Nongstoin. Altogether 66 nos of the participants of the Umiap River Valley Project (Phase–II) and 40 nos. participants from the Kynshiew River Valley Project participated in the training.

Shri. L. Shabong, ASCO and Shri P. Rapthap, ASCO attended the Regional Level Training on Soil and Water Conservation Measures for degraded areas in the catchment of R.V.P. and F.P.R. at CTI, Byrnihat from 18th – 22nd April 2005.

Smti. B. H. Syiem ASCO Nongstoin attended workshop on Monitoring & Evaluation at Extension Education of India, Jorhat from 16th – 21st May 2005.

On 25th May 2005, Shri. D. Langstieh, DSCO Nongstoin inaugurated the training programme conducted by the Agriculture Department.

Shri D.S. Kharsyntiew, Joint Director of Soil Conservation (Research & Training), Conservation Training Institute, Byrnihat attended the celebration of the 20th Water Resource Day on 31st May, 2005 at the Institution of Engineers (India), Assam State Centre, Guwahati.
